The Locker Room

Waiting for Superman, an inconvenient fact

Posted by Dr. Roy Cordato at 07:40 AM

I don't understand conservative's self confident giddiness over Waiting for Superman, the new movie that is highly critical of government schools and the teacher's unions.  Let's not forget that this film was directed by Davis Guggenheim and produced by Lesley Chilcott, the same people who gave us Al Gore's error ridden global warming propaganda flick An Inconvenient Truth. It is not clear to me that, just because we like the message in Waiting for Superman, we should trust what it says. Guggenheim and Chilcott have shown themselves to be quite willing to produce films that promote their own biases, whatever they might be, and the facts be damned. What is needed from conservatives is a healthy dose of skepticism. I'd hate to see my friends, if not always allies, in the school choice movement end up with egg on their faces.
