Because he hasn't attracted enough attention

U.S. News features this week an interview with North Carolina's new congressman.

Those on the farthest reaches of the left end of the political spectrum are not likely to draw much inspiration from Heath Shuler, who presents a populist message. 

Justifying his party affiliation, he mentions only the basic idea of wanting to help those who can't help themselves.
